Many friends on LinkedIn don’t know
that before I moved into HR, I spent three years as a full-time stay-at-home dad;
and before that, for nearly ten years,
I was a music teacher and a performing artist.
It was only after training and development work sparked my thinking about talent development
that I formally switched into HR — no more than five years ago.
Precisely because I’m so junior,
during this time working in HR,
putting in effort second to none has been the thing that matters most.
Through a piece in this issue of HOLO Monthly, sharing an unexpected journey,
I looked inward again — and, because of that, saw “the brightest star in the night sky.”
I pray that, on this HR road,
I keep a transparent heart that can tell right from truth,
and a pair of eyes that can still weep, that truly feel and empathize.
